Roddy White reportedly suffers setback in recovery, fantasy value at all-time low
Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Roddy White reportedly suffered a setback in his recovery from a high ankle sprain. We break down the fantasy implications.

White has been dealing with the injury since Week 2, but has not missed a game. White has been adamant that he will not miss any time, saying prior to the game that he would rehab his injury during the bye week. The perception is that White is concerned with his extensive streak of not missing games, despite the fact that he has been totally unreliable when playing through the injury.
After sustaining the injury, White was first used as a decoy -- meaning he ran routes at less than 100 percent speed, but still drew the coverage of one of the opposing team’s top cornerbacks. But he hasn’t given his ankle time to recover at all, and head coach Mike Smith wouldn’t step in to force him to sit. So he played in 97 percent of the team’s offensive snaps against New England and now he’s got to spend even more time trying to recover.
Fantasy Impact: White is fortunate that the team has a bye week at this point. Of course, he’s said that he won’t take any “time off,” suggesting he’s going to continue to push his ankle during the time off. Fantasy owners have been frustrated with his decision to play and be used as a decoy, rather than miss a couple games with the possibility of coming back at 100 percent sooner rather than later. He’s got a bye week, but he might not even be a must-start after that, given the way things have gone.
