Fantasy football projections, Week 5: Eagles vs. Giants featuring Michael Vick, Lesean McCoy, Eli Manning

The Week 5 matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants features two division rivals that no one thought would be on the outside looking in before the season. We've got all fantasy projections for you courtesy of numberFire.

Quarterback Michael Vick and the Eagles might be in a little better situation in the NFC East if not for a road game against the Denver Broncos. Peyton Manning and his air attack put up 327 passing yards and four touchdowns last week against an Eagles pass defense that now has given up the second-most fantasy points to quarterbacks this season.

Quarterback Eli Manning finds himself in a situation in New York that he is not exactly used to, with his team being winless in four games to start the year. The Giants' offensive line has not been able to give Manning enough time to find receivers downfield as Manning has been sacked 14 times this season and has already thrown nine interceptions. By comparison, Manning was picked off 15 times all of last year. At his current pace, Manning is set to throw 36 interceptions this year, which would easily surpass his career-high mark of 25 set back in 2010.

Some of Manning's issues this season can be attributed to running back David Wilson and wide receiver Hakeem Nicks, who have both struggled mightily out of the gate. Wilson was selected in the early rounds of most fantasy drafts as a player who would have a breakout season and realize the superstar potential that many believe he has. However, two fumbles in the team's first game put him in coach Tom Coughlin's doghouse. This week's contest against the Eagles' run defense is seen as Wilson's opportunity to regain the value he's lost this season. On the other hand, Nicks, who has been a perfect complement opposite Pro Bowler Victor Cruz in the past, has just three catches combined in his last two games and admits that he played poorly in Week 4.
