Ben Tate injury update: Fantasy handcuff could see double-digit touches
Ben Tate’s shoulder injury is basically a non-issue. We break down the fantasy implications.

He’s one of the best backup running backs in a great zone-blocking scheme with loads of talent up front. Tate is ripping off runs at a 6.7 yards-per-carry clip this season, but his bottom line doesn’t look too great, totaling 228 rushing yards and no TDs. The Texans did say he could get 12-15 carries this week.
Fantasy impact: Tate’s value isn’t quite there as an every-week starter and that’s certainly the case against the stout front seven of San Francisco. Most of his value lies as Arian Foster’s handcuff. Should Foster ever miss games, Tate would arguably be a top-five play in leagues for his effectiveness and the Texans’ run-heavy approach. Unless you have some serious bye-week issues, Tate should remain on benches for this week.
