Saints receiver Lance Moore (hand) will not play against the Bears on Sunday. He did not practice all week. He hasn't played since Week 3 and before that his season was off to a terrible start. In those three games, he accounted for just four catches for 44 yards on 11 targets.
Lance Moore injury update: Still banged up, Saints WR depth costing fantasy owners
Lance Moore has been useless for most of the season. We break down the fantasy implications.
Moore was one of Drew Brees' favorite options as their slot guy, but the Saints haven't skipped a beat without him. They have replaced him with the likes of Robert Meachem, Nick Toon and Kenny Stills. Meachem was one of Brees' favorite down-the-field targets a few years ago, but the receiver went to San Diego and absolutely flopped before New Orleans picked him up off the scrap heap. Their two young guns, Toon and Stills, have been able to get open and have been useful for the team on passing downs.
Fantasy impact: There's almost no reason to own Moore these days. Jimmy Graham is humming and Marques Colston is healthy. Chances are fantasy owners in 12- and 14-team leagues should be able to do better.
