The Atlanta Falcons ruled out running back Steven Jackson for the team's Monday Night Football matchup against the New York Jets in Week 5. Jackson is dealing with a hamstring injury suffered in the first quarter of a win over the St. Louis Rams in Week 2.
Steven Jackson injury: Falcons RB ruled out, continues to be fantasy bust
Atlanta Falcons running back Steven Jackson was ruled out of Monday’s game against the New York Jets.

Jackson hasn’t practiced since sustaining the injury. It’s been an extremely disappointing for Jackson, the Falcons and, of course, fantasy owners. Jackson has always been somewhat injury-prone, missing a few games here and there, but the Falcons were hoping he’d hold up to take over their starting role when they signed him this offseason.
Unfortunately, that hasn’t panned out due to this injury. Either way, he’s out for this game.
Fantasy Impact: The Falcons have a bye week in Week 6, which will certainly help Jackson’s chances of not missing another game. Head coach Mike Smith thought there might be a real chance Jackson is ready to go against the Jets, despite not practicing, so that seems like a good bet Jackson will be back in Week 7. If you’re a fantasy owner and you’ve stuck by him, you should be rewarded once he does return, provided he can remain healthy.
