San Francisco 49ers running back Frank Gore ran the ball 17 times for 81 yards and a touchdown in the team's 34-3 win against the Houston Texans in Week 5. Gore did not catch any passes out of the backfield in the game.
Frank Gore notches third touchdown for fantasy owners
The 49ers running back scored his third touchdown of the season in Week 5. We break down the fantasy implications.

Fantasy impact: Gore now has a touchdown in back-to-back games for the first time this season. His longest run of the night was for 28 yards and put the 49ers in position to score. His 4.7 yards per carry average in the game is right on par with his totals this season.
It was almost a certainty that Gore would have had his second 100-yard rushing game in a row for the 49ers if not for the fact that the game was a complete blowout. Teammates LaMichael James and Kendall Hunter handled the majority of the touches in the fourth quarter with the game in the bag. It was a good opportunity for the team to give their workhorse a rest, which of course isn't good for Gore's fantasy owners.
Going into Week 6, Gore goes up an Arizona Cardinals defense that just got linebacker Darryl Washington back from a four-game suspension. The Cardinals run defense only ranks in the middle of the pack as far as the number of fantasy points they give up to running backs. That said, they have yet to give up a rushing touchdown this year.
