The strangest quarterback story so far in the NFL season is no question former Bucs QB Josh Freeman. Just because he was benched and now released earlier in the week due to him being irresponsible and inconsistent, doesn't mean he is no longer talented. A ton of teams were over the past week, the numbers going all the way up to 12, but only one was lucky enough to snag him, and that was the Minnesota Vikings.
Josh Freeman signs with Vikings: Fantasy implications
What does Freeman signing with the Vikings mean from a fantasy aspect?

Most likely, the Vikings are going to bring Freeman in as their featured quarterback by Week 7 at latest, because teams who need a QB like Buffalo and Jacksonville were also interested. So, Week 6 is a time for Matt Cassel and Christian Ponder to win a job, and if they struggle, Freeman will get his shot.
“My QB has a bye in Week 6, do I start Freeman?”
No. I’d go a completely different route, because I don’t think Freeman will start for the Vikings in Week 6, due to having seven days to learn their playbook So, we’ll see what happens, but as of now, I would keep Freeman on waivers. You have until Wednesday morning, anyway.
