St. Louis Rams wide receiver Tavon Austin had a disappointing game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, though it was a step up from his last two. Austin caught just three passes for 32 yards, but it was better than the two catches for 6 yards and six catches for 30 yards he had in the previous two games.
Tavon Austin the 4th receiver in snap count on Sunday, fantasy value iffy
St. Louis Rams wide receiver Tavon Austin was four down on the depth chart Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.

Austin was targeted six times in the win over Jacksonville, but he’s struggled to get open and make big plays. The Rams drafted him in the first round to be a difference-maker, but he hasn’t been able to get separation and hasn’t made the proper adjustments to his game for the NFL level.
Against the Jaguars, Austin was only in on 23 snaps, despite his six targets. That's fewer snaps than Chris Givens, Austin Pettis and Brian Quick.
Fantasy Impact: Austin was listed as a fantasy sleeper by most, and was drafted relatively highly for not having played a down in the NFL. He’s disappointed thus far, though he shouldn’t be released just yet. He could come on strong in the second half of the season, though until he shows flashes of being able to compete with NFL cornerbacks, he should be riding the bench.
