Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill has broken out in a big way this season, but if things continue along the path they have through five weeks, his breakout season could be cut short. Tannehill has been sacked 24 times over the first five games of the season, higher than any other quarterback in the league.
Fantasy owners should be worried about Ryan Tannehill, the league’s most-sacked quarterback
Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill has been sacked more than any quarterback this season and is on pace to be sacked more than any in NFL history. We break down the fantasy implications.

He’s completed 114 of 182 passes for 1,383 yards with six touchdowns against five interceptions, with a completion percentage of 62.6. He’s No. 7 in the NFL in yardage. These stats are hard to pull off when you’re playing behind an offensive line as poor as the one Miami trots out each week.
Tannehill is on pace to be sacked 77 times this season, an NFL record. The Dolphins franchise record is 53 set in 1969, as noted by Barry Jackson of The Miami Herald. One has to wonder if Tannehill’s strong season will get worse and worse as he takes more and more hits, or if he will get injured and find himself on the sideline.
Fantasy Impact: Fantasy owners should obviously keep Tannehill in the starting lineup -- he’s been good to them thus far. But they can’t be happy about the sack numbers and have to be worried that he might not be able to hold up for long this season. It’s a realistic concern given the line he’s playing behind.
