The Jets got a needed boost in the receiving game from second-string tight end Jeff Cumberland with Kellen Winslow and Santonio Holmes hurting. We break down the fantasy implications.

Cumberland was involved early and often in a revitalized Jets offense, reeling in three catches for 79 yards and a touchdown. On top of a 20-yard touchdown catch on the other end of a frozen rope from quarterback Geno Smith, Cumberland also logged a highlight-worthy 47-yard catch-and-run late in the second quarter to pad his stats. He went into the tunnel as the team's leading receiver, and has already surpassed the receiving totals he had entering the game.
Fantasy Spin: There aren't any long-term conclusions that can be made about Cumberland's fantasy prospects going forward, and it's more likely than not that he is amid a flash in the pan performance. If Santonio Holmes was not sidelined with a hamstring injury this might not have happened at all, and it is difficult to project him to have a higher ceiling than what he showcased tonight, especially if he has to battle a healthy Kellen Winslow for targets as well. He's worth a watch in deeper leagues, but until further notice, that's all he is.
