Falcons receiver Julio Jones was targeted early and often and led the team in receiving yards during a 30-28 loss to the Jets.
Julio Jones hauls in 8 receptions for 99 yards for Falcons, fantasy owners, on Monday night
The Falcons’ top receiver turned in another quality performance, but it wasn’t enough to propel the team to a win on Monday night. We break down the fantasy implications.

Jones was plenty involved as usual, catching eight passes for 99 yards, but his night could have been much bigger. Jones received two screen passes within a breath of the end zone, but the Jets' defense sniffed it out both times and denied him from scoring. He also had a pass broken up by Antonio Cromartie in the end zone during the fourth quarter, and to his credit, the veteran cornerback played a stingy game versus Jones for most of the night.
Fantasy Spin: It’s disappointing when Jones can’t cash in on these chances, but over the course of the season, he will do so more often than not. He is the top target and has the highest ceiling amid an efficient, pass-heavy attack, and there is no reason to not have Jones penned into the WR1 slot each week going forward. Fantasy owners should remain encouraged that Jones hauled in nearly 100 yards on an “off” night.
