New York Giants running back David Wilson will miss the team's Week 6 matchup against the Chicago Bears due to a neck injury. The two teams meet in prime time on Thursday Night Football. Given that Wilson sustained his injury in the Giants' Week 5 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, the short week is definitely working against him.
David Wilson out for Thursday, Brandon Jacobs not a desirable fantasy handcuff
New York Giants running back David Wilson is out for Thursday’s game. We break down the fantasy implications.

Wilson left the 36-21 loss to Philadelphia and did not return. He carried the load in the first quarter, and even had a touchdown, which he celebrated by doing two backflips. Those backflips seem to be unrelated to the injury, however. It’s unclear when exactly he was hurt, but he did not play in the second half.
Originally, Wilson said he was fine following the game, but given the short week, it’s unlikely he’ll be able to get any practice time, so declaring him out seems to be the smart option.
Fantasy Impact: Wilson has been a disappointment to fantasy owners thus far. Some have made him their No. 1 running back, which has been disastrous, though he's been decent as a No. 2. He hasn't really hit his stride yet, and this injury will only set him back further, unfortunately. As his backup, Brandon Jacobs is technically the fantasy handcuff, but fantasy owners might be better off looking for another backup, since Jacobs inspires little to no confidence in anything other than short-yardage situations.
