New England Patriots running back Leon Washington (ankle) is practicing on Wednesday, according to a report by Shalise Manza Young of The Boston Globe. Washington has just one carry for a single yard this season.
Leon Washington practicing, adding just a glimmer of fantasy value
The Patriots running back is practicing on Wednesday after spraining his ankle in Week 5. We break down the fantasy implications.

Fantasy impact: For the most part, Washington is just a designated special teams player for the Patriots, although he's also listed as a running back. He was in line to get some touches in the running game in Week 5 with a nagging knee injury to Brandon Bolden leaving Washington next in line.
The Patriots' backfield was largely considered to be a committee before the start of the season and none of the team's options were considered fantasy studs by any means. That said, injuries to Shane Vereen, Stevan Ridley and Bolden have opened up opportunities for Bolden and LeGarrette Blount to get some work in.
Washington is in his eighth NFL season and has had plenty of opportunities to prove himself worthy of regular work on offense with both the New York Jets and Seattle Seahawks. Though he'll never see another day as a feature back, he's got enough foot speed to put together some healthy returns and contribute on special teams, which is why he still has a job. That said, he shouldn't be on anyone's fantasy radar under normal circumstances.
