Houston Texans quarterback Matt Schaub will not be benched ... for now. Head coach Gary Kubiak named Schaub his starter for the team's Week 6 matchup against the St. Louis Rams, according to Tania Ganguli of ESPN. Kubiak said it was a "tough decision" to make.
Matt Schaub will start in Week 6, could rebound for fantasy owners
Houston Texans quarterback Matt Schaub will get the start in Week 6. We break down the fantasy implications.

It’s a tough decision due to the fact that Schaub has thrown nine interceptions against eight touchdowns. Moreover, it’s a tough decision because Schaub has thrown an interception returned for a touchdown once in each of his last four games. Three of those four games -- the last three -- ended with Houston as the losing team.
There's no such thing as a good pick-six, but Schaub threw one against the Seattle Seahawks in a game that Houston was winning, leading to their eventual loss in overtime, and most recently, the trend culminated in a pick-six thrown on the team's first drive against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 5.
Fantasy Impact: Despite his struggles, this is good news for fantasy owners. T.J. Yates might be available in fantasy leagues, and he is the guy who would likely have started in Schaub's place, but he hardly offers much more than Schaub at this point. At best he'd throw fewer interceptions and at worst he wouldn't be able to find the end zone. Schaub has been a productive quarterback in the past and has some good weapons on his side. He just needs to turn things around.
