Denver Broncos tight end Julius Thomas injured his ankle in the team's last game, two weeks ago against the Washington Redskins. The ankle has still hindered the tight end in practice this week, with some questions as to his status for Sunday's game. It looks like he'll play, and he will look to continue his strong season.
Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 10: Julius Thomas
The Broncos tight end has been battling an ankle injury. If he plays Sunday, can fantasy owners expect big production? We break down the fantasy implications.

At the very least, Thomas' season has followed a pattern. He had 100-plus yards and two scores in Week 1, followed by a touchdown but few yards for two games, followed by a complete no-show in Week 4, then repeated that exact pattern for Weeks 5-8. It's hard to imagine that's a real trend, but if it is, Thomas' next game, against the San Diego Chargers, would be one of those big ones.
Fantasy impact: If not for the ankle injury, Thomas would be a sure-fire TE1, likely in the top five. Because of his ankle injury, the Broncos — never hurting for offensive weapons — might limit Thomas’ snaps in Sunday’s game in an effort to keep him healthy. Combine that with the fact that the Chargers have allowed the eighth-fewest fantasy points per game to tight ends, and Thomas’ value could be a bit depressed this week.
That said, he still probably has to be started in most leagues, with the upside that Thomas has. He might not be a top-five tight end option in Week 10, but he’s still a top-ten.
