Cincinnati Bengals running back Giovani Bernard has already caught the attention of football fans with his electric running, only adding to the excitement after performing his circus-like touchdown run last week versus the Miami Dolphins.
Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 10: Giovani Bernard
The Bengals have one of the most exciting young running backs in the NFL, but he remains stuck in a backfield timeshare. We break down the fantasy implications.

It’s that big-play ability, versatility and overall effectiveness that have his fantasy owners kicking and screaming for Bernard to take the reins of the Bengals’ backfield from veteran BenJarvus Green-Ellis. However, on Monday, offensive coordinator Jay Gruden hinted that Bernard’s workload will remain the same going forward, according to Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer.
Fantasy Spin: About his usual workload -- Bernard has averaged nearly 14 touches per game since Week 3, which isn't ideal but still allows someone of Bernard's skill to rack up points. However, Bernard's opportunities and upside could be capped for Week 10 as he lines up across from a Baltimore Ravens defense that has been no slouch against the run despite its overall struggles. The Ravens have allowed just 3.7 yards per carry and 100.4 rushing yards per game, which rank sixth and eighth in the NFL, respectively.
Even with those circumstances in mind, Bernard’s upside is just too big to be kept on the bench in leagues of at least 12 teams, and measures should be taken to get him into a flex spot if possible.
