Fantasy football projections, Week 10: Broncos vs. Chargers featuring Peyton Manning, Wes Welker and Philip Rivers

The Week 10 matchup between the Denver Broncos and the San Diego Chargers is shaping up to be a shootout. We've got all the fantasy projections for you courtesy of numberFire.

Coming off of a bye week, Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning (ankle) was able to practice with the team in full leading up to their game against the Chargers in Week 10. Manning had his "worst" game of the season, if you can call it that, against the Washington Redskins in Week 8. He threw for four touchdowns and 354 passing yards in the victory. The only blemish on his day and his season was the fact that he threw three interceptions in the contest. He's now thrown six interceptions on the year, and all of them have come in the last four games.

Manning will look to connect with a plethora of receivers the way he has managed to do all season. One of his favorite targets though is slot receiver Wes Welker. After being kept out of the end zone against the Indianapolis Colts for the first time this season back in Week 7, Welker found paydirt against the Redskins. In a game that will almost undoubtedly feature a ton of passing yards by both quarterbacks, Walker stands to benefit greatly against the Chargers.

If the Chargers have any hope of overthrowing the Broncos in Week 10, it will be on the arm of quarterback Philip Rivers. Much like his opponent, Rivers thrives on racking up passing yards, although not to the same degree as the Broncos' passer. After toiling away as a mediocre fantasy quarterback over the last couple of seasons, Rivers has found his game again and is back in the elite fantasy quarterback discussion. That said, he did throw a pair of interceptions against a subpar Redskins secondary in Week 9 and was unable to lead his team to the win.

Unlike Manning, Rivers doesn't have as much depth in his receiving corps. To beat the Broncos, running back Ryan Mathews will have to play one of his best games of the season. Mathews has proven to be a boom or bust player this year. Last week against the Redskins, he only managed 34 yards rushing albeit on seven carries. In the two games before that, however, Matthews rushed over 100 yards and got over 20 carries in each contest.
