Fantasy football start/sit advice Week 10: Cowboys vs. Saints

The points should come in bunches on Sunday Night Football and that’s music to fantasy owners’ ears. Are there any players you might want to sit in this likely shootout?

Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

The New Orleans Saints will host the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football. Both teams rank in the top seven in points per game and in the top 10 for passing yards. Shockingly, the Saints are actually fifth in scoring defense while the Cowboys come in ranked 15th. Chances are both defenses could be in for a long night.

Cowboys

Start: Tony Romo, Dez Bryant, DeMarco Murray, Terrance Williams, Jason Witten

In a dome and in a likely high-scoring game, there is just too much to like here. Dez Bryant is a little banged up and his aggressive style has been a bit of a double-edged sword. Still, he’s healthy and should be in all lineups. Tony Romo going up against Rob Ryan’s defense could be trouble since Ryan knows Romo well. Although, it works both ways since the Cowboys probably have a good idea of how Ryan will attack them. Terrance Williams is on hot and Jason Witten should get double-digit targets.

Deep Start: Cole Beasley

With Miles Austin out, Beasley has been a nice secondary option in the slot with Witten covered. If you're in dire straits for a a PPR option.

Sit: Miles Austin

He is shut down and is not worth owning in almost any league.

Saints

Start: Drew Brees, Darren Sproles, Jimmy Graham

There is no way any of these guys can be benched, especially Sproles in a PPR. The Saints are the healthiest they been on offense in a while and they’re outstanding at home.

Deep starts: Pierre Thomas, Lance Moore, Marques Colston (questionable)

The Saints not losing Darren Sproles really puts a dent in the value of Thomas and Moore. Sproles is a wheel-route virtuoso, and the Saints will use him a lot to keep DeMarcus Ware at bay. Marques Colston hasn't been the same all season and is banged up with a knee injury, so he's no longer the WR1/2 that fantasy owners thought they were getting.

Sit: Mark Ingram, Kenny Stills

Remember when Ingram won the Heisman? Yeah, we don't either. He lost all of his momentum last week against the Jets with a golden opportunity.
