Fantasy football start/sit advice Week 10: Eagles vs. Packers

The Packers aren’t the same offense this week for obvious reasons. Should owners of their skill guys sit them in a favorable matchup?

Benny Sieu-USA TODAY Sports

Two offenses with two different quarterbacks from opening day are headed in opposite directions. The Philadelphia Eagles put on a show for the ages with their 49 points in Oakland, while Aaron Rodgers has left the Green Bay Packers without a quarterback for the next few weeks at least.

Eagles

You might have heard about Nick Foles last week. He had one of the best passing performances of all time and became the third quarterback to ever throw seven touchdowns and not have an interception. He also was the first quarterback to have a 158.3 passer rating in a game this season. Unless you have a superstar like Drew Brees or Peyton Manning, he should be in almost all lineups. Shady McCoy is going to be a beast down the stretch, even though the Eagles aren't running the ball nearly as much with Foles calling the shots. DeSean Jackson has been great down the field and it's a bit of a surprise to see how well Foles gets the ball outside the numbers for 30-plus yards.

Obviously, Riley Cooper isn’t going to be as good as he was last week with his two scores and 100 yards, but he’s still a nice option. He is more or less a one-route wonder, but the vertical passing attack fits that style very well. If you want to hit a home run, Cooper is worth a look.

Now that the Eagles are passing more, Brown isn’t quite as intriguing. He’s still a nice handcuff to McCoy, though.

Packers

The rookie back is simply a beast. He went off last week against the Bears for 150 rushing yards and a score. Now that Aaron Rodgers is out, he will be the focal point of the offense. Green Bay hasn't been famous for its run blocking, but it has some big bodies that can push people around. He's a top-five play this week. Jordy Nelson is the Packers' best receiver, so he has to be in the lineup in almost all leagues.

Deep starts: James Starks

This isn't going to be your older brother's Packers. Heck, it might not even be your dad's Packers with Brett Favre and Rodgers putting on an aerial show over the past two decades. Starks should get his chance for about 10 carries, so he could turn that into a touchdown and 70 yards or so.

The Packers basically had their heart ripped out as an offense with Aaron Rodgers out. Boykin was building some nice value in PPR leagues, but the Packers aren’t going to have the luxury of spreading them out with Wallace at the helm. Jones is more a red-zone guy, but with the coaching staff not as willing to trust its new quarterback, it’ll be tough to expect several looks for points.
