Cincinnati Bengals running back Giovani Bernard is listed as active for the team's matchup versus the Baltimore Ravens.
Gio Bernard listed as active on Sunday for Bengals, fantasy owners
The Bengals’ backfield won’t miss a beat on Sunday, as rookie running back Giovani Bernard will once again take the field despite a rib injury. We break down the fantasy implications.

Toward the end of an electrifying display versus the Miami Dolphins in prime time, Bernard suffered a rib injury that has limited him in practice ever since. But with 10 days of rest and still getting practice time in throughout the week, Bernard will be in a position where he can give an encore to his 104-yard, two-touchdown performance versus the Baltimore Ravens.
Fantasy Spin: It’s encouraging news for Bernard’s fantasy owners that he will once again take the field, but perhaps more troubling is offensive coordinator Jay Gruden saying that the team does not intend on increasing Bernard’s workload.
Despite that, Bernard will undoubtedly be in the mix versus a Ravens defense that has been stout versus the run this season, but he is unlikely to be featured first and foremost with BenJarvus Green-Ellis taking first reps. Coming off of his rib injury, look for Bernard to get his usual 10-15 touches and warrant high-upside flex play consideration for fantasy owners.
