Since sustaining a torn labrum in his hip in the offseason, Harvin has been brought along slowly since the Seahawks activated him from the reserve/PUP list. However, Schefter’s report is a positive indication that Harvin is close to returning to action. This is not an unfamiliar situation for Harvin or Seahawks brass, because Harvin appeared to be close to returning to the playing field as early as Week 8, but a setback caused Harvin to remain sidelined and eased cautiously back into action.
Fantasy Spin: Making matters worse for Harvin’s fantasy owners, is that the Seahawks square-off with the Vikings at 4:25 p.m. ET. By the time that happens, nine early games will already be in the books, meaning by the time the inactive players list rolls around, wide receiver options for 18 teams will be off-limits for Harvin’s owners.
More news on Harvin’s status will emerge throughout the week, and until more is known, owners would be wise to keep him on the bench. Harvin would likely be on a snap count if he was to play, but plenty of fantasy value could still be had versus a patchwork Vikings secondary.
