Cecil Shorts active for Jaguars in dicey fantasy matchup vs. Titans
Wide receiver Cecil Shorts will start on Sunday, as expected. We break down the fantasy implications.

Shorts had been held out of practice on Wednesday and Thursday with a groin injury, but likely due to routine maintenance. Expect plenty of that going forward, since the Jaguars will have to take extra measures to protect their No.1 receiver after their receiving corps has been depleted by injury and suspension. Shorts has been listed as probable on the injury report all week and was never in danger of missing Sunday’s game.
Fantasy Spin: With Justin Blackmon’s season officially over, Shorts will be the target monster in Jacksonville and could be crowned the king of “garbage-time” stats when the season is all said and done. Shorts was among the NFL target leaders in the first four weeks of the season, and that trend ought to resume.
The downside for Shorts' prospects is that he will likely be shadowed by one of the NFL's true shutdown corners in Alterraun Verner, but despite that, presents plenty of upside in a game where he should be peppered with targets. Shorts can be penned in as a low-end WR2 with upside. His counterpart, Mike Brown, is on the fantasy radar in deep leagues, but nothing more until further notice.
