Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler returned from his groin injury earlier than predicted Sunday. The return appeared to have been premature, as Cutler was hampered throughout the game before being replaced by backup Josh McCown on the final drive of the Bears' 21-19 loss to the Detroit Lions.
Jay Cutler proves to Bears, fantasy owners that he wasn’t fully healthy
The Bears’ starting quarterback didn’t finish Sunday’s game. We break down the fantasy implications.

Cutler’s 52.5% completion percentage was his lowest of the season, except for the game he was injured and left after only eight passes. He did complete a touchdown pass to Brandon Marshall on the team’s opening drive of the game, but obviously got worse as the game went on, ultimately throwing for 250 yards, the one touchdown and an interception.
Cutler was replaced by McCown on the team’s last drive with what was reported as an ankle injury. McCown led the team to a quick touchdown -- also to Marshall -- but a two-point conversion try failed as the team lost by two.
Fantasy impact: The two combined for 312 passing yards and two scores, which would be a fine fantasy day for one quarterback. Individually, though, neither guy provided a lot of value, and the fact that Cutler left with injury certainly doesn’t bode well going forward.
Whichever quarterback gets the start next week against the Baltimore Ravens is a mid-level QB2 play, but it's hard to count on much more than that out of either guy.
