Buffalo Bills running back Fred Jackson was supposed to have a diminished role with C.J. Spiller on the mend, but versus the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday, that was not the case.
Fred Jackson held in check, totaling 62 yards for fantasy owners
The veteran running back got the bulk of the carries once again, but the Buffalo Bills offense struggled as a unit. We break down the fantasy implications.

Jackson wound up out-touching Spiller by a count of 15-11, but it was during a game where not much went according to plan for a sputtering Bills offense. Controlling the clock for just 24 minutes of the game, it is not likely that the team distributed a workload that was indicative of the game plan. Despite being banged up, Jackson averaged 4.6 yards per carry, but posted a modest total of 62 yards.
Fantasy Spin: Jackson will remain a boom-or-bust flex play, as the biggest takeaway from an otherwise uninspiring game is that Jackson remains the Bills' goal-line back despite all the Spiller hype. Cashing in on a touchdown run will not be an easy task in Week 11 when the Bills take on the imposing front seven of the New York Jets, and Jackson thus remains a long shot to post gaudy fantasy numbers in the immediate future.
