Both DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart looked solid against the San Francisco 49ers. We break down the fantasy implications.

That’s an average of 5.8 yards per carry for Williams. He also provided the only touchdown of the game, which ended up being a big deal given that it was a 10-9 win for the Panthers. Stewart rushed 13 times for 41 yards, with a per carry average of just 3.2 yards. It’s only his second game back from an injury that has kept him out the entire season and all of training camp.
Still, there isn’t a whole lot of clarity when it comes to the Carolina rushing attack. It’s effective, to be sure, but the actual hierarchy of running backs is still unclear.
Fantasy Impact: Neither DeAngelo Williams nor Jonathan Stewart are strong fantasy options at this point, despite the two combining to contribute to one of the more effective rushing attacks in the NFL. The committee rushing attack is not kind to fantasy owners unwilling to dedicate two spots to running backs in hopes that one of them has a great game. Their stats combined would have made a strong performance, but separate they aren’t much use to fantasy owners.
