Fantasy football bye week, Week 11: Cowboys, Rams getting the week off

Only two teams are on bye this week, but they contain some pretty big fantasy players that will be hard to replace.

Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sport

The fantasy football season is starting to enter the stretch run with the bye weeks finally starting to wind down. Week 11 is the second-to-last bye week, and there are only two teams with the week off. For the first time in several weeks, most fantasy owners can finally run with their studs for the rest of the season.

The Dallas Cowboys and St. Louis Rams are on bye in Week 11. Despite the low number of teams, there are some big fantasy names on both of them. Let's run through each team.

Dallas Cowboys

QB: Tony Romo Despite a down performance against the Saints, Romo remains a top 10 fantasy QB and will be hard to replace this week. After the bye, the Cowboys get the Giants and Raiders. Romo will be a no-brainer QB1 for the rest of the season as the Cowboys fight for a division title.

RB: DeMarco Murray Dallas re-committed to the run in Week 10, resulting in one of Murray's best performances of the year. His injury history and the Cowboys' pass-happy offense makes it hard to trust him as a RB1, but the upside is there.

WR: Dez Bryant, Terrance Williams Bryant is another no-brainer start despite being shut down by the Saints. His back should be much better after a week of rest. Williams is another bounce-back candidate after catching his fifth touchdown of the year.

TE: Jason Witten With only 47 catches in 10 games, it doesn't look like Witten will come close to last year's total of 110. He remains more valuable in PPR than standard leagues.

St. Louis Rams

QB: Kellen Clemens Tavon Austin accounted for 138 of Clemens' 247 yards against the Colts. Other than that, it was another uninspiring day for him. He's not on the fantasy radar outside the deepest, most desperate leagues.

RB: Zac Stacy One of the few Rams fantasy owners will actually miss this week. He was held to 2.4 yards per carry by the Colts, but will have a tasty matchup against the Bears in Week 12. Keep rolling him out as a RB2.

WR: Tavon Austin, Chris Givens, Austin Pettis Austin's huge Week 10 may be a fluke, but for a moment he reminded people why the Rams traded up to draft him. He's still miscast in Brian Schottenheimer's conservative offense and fantasy owners trying to chase his points will be disappointed. Givens and Pettis are interesting young receivers but will have no fantasy value as long as Clemens is throwing the ball.

TE: Jared Cook He might be doing owners a favor by being off this week. By far one of the biggest fantasy disappointments this season, there’s no reason to expect a bounce back even against Chicago’s defense. Cook hasn’t done anything of note since his big Week 1.
