Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 11: Redskins vs. Eagles

As half of a terrible division, the Redskins and Eagles face off Sunday with loads of real and fantasy potential in the mix.

The Washington Redskins travel to Pennsylvania on Sunday for a 1 p.m. ET game against the division rival Philadelphia Eagles. The game is a matchup of two good offenses and two defenses that are ... not so good:

Redskins

Start in every league: Robert Griffin III, Alfred Morris, Pierre Garcon, Jordan Reed

Start if you’re desperate: ...

Bench: Roy Helu Jr., Leonard Hankerson, Kai Forbath, Defense/special teams

It’s pretty clear-cut on the Redskins this week, without many question marks. Griffin, Morris, Garcon, and Reed are all, at this point in the season, top-10 plays at their respective positions, and anyone who tells you otherwise is a dirty rotten liar. This week, against a poor defense, there’s no reason not to use all of them.

On the flip side, Helu and Hankerson are far too unreliable for fantasy; Helu has two fantasy points in three straight games, while Hankerson hasn't scored more than six points in a game since his 20-point Week 1. ... Forbath has scored only 38 fantasy points all season, last among current starting kickers. Even accounting for the weeks that John Potter started, the Redskins' combined kickers are second-worst. ... The Redskins' defense scored 22 fantasy points against the Oakland Raiders in Week 4, but have averaged barely four points an outing otherwise.

Eagles

Start in every league: Nick Foles, LeSean McCoy, DeSean Jackson

Start if you're desperate: Riley Cooper

Bench: Brent Celek, Alex Henery, Defense/special teams

There are bound to be a lot of leagues where someone with a good starting quarterback -- Cam Newton, or Andrew Luck, or the Eagles' Week 11 opponent, Robert Griffin III -- snapped up Foles as a backup. So it's possible Foles isn't a true slam-dunk start, but for anyone with a question mark, he's an easy top-10 quarterback, and maybe higher. ... McCoy is sixth in the league in average fantasy points per game, due largely to the fact that he has only four touchdowns all season. His yardage is huge, though, and that makes him a must-start every week. ... Jackson has been a stud all year, with seven touchdowns and four 100-yard games. He's averaged at least 10 yards a reception in every game this season except for Weeks 7 and 8, when the whole team, and specifically the quarterbacks, struggled.

I'm probably going to be the last person to buy all the way in on Cooper. Eddie Royal had two huge weeks, too. Before Cooper's current two-game explosion, he had 40 points all season. Would anyone be surprised if he had a two-fantasy-point day Sunday?

Celek has three touchdowns this season, and hasn't even scored double-digits in all those games. He has three different zero-point games, and three others with one point. Ouch. ... Henery has missed five field goals all year; only Garrett Hartley and Randy Bullock have missed more. ... The Eagles' defense scored 10 points twice, in its best games all season. The entire unit has only one touchdown on the season.
