Care to venture a guess on the leader in fantasy points among tight ends for standard scoring leagues in Week 10? It was not Jimmy Graham, Jason Witten or Jordan Reed, but if you read the title of this post, I'm sure you figured out that it was the Minnesota Vikings' John Carlson.
Fantasy Football start/sit advice, Week 11: John Carlson faces tough Seahawks defense
The Minnesota Vikings got a huge performance from an unlikely source in the receiving game in Week 10. We break down the fantasy implications.

Carlson is not the only surprising name on the list of top scorers, as the likes of Delanie Walker, Rob Housler, Brandon Bostick and Chris Gragg all occupied spots in the top 10 at the position. And because tight end has been the most dismal slot in fantasy football, fantasy owners aren't off base to wonder if John Carlson is a serviceable option to start in what has been a toxic position regardless.
Fantasy Spin: It's difficult to put much faith in Carlson going forward, because his 98-yard performance is the highest total he has registered in a game since 2008. Expecting more of the same would be a bold move, especially since this week he will face a stark contrast from the abysmal Washington Redskins pass defense from Week 10.
Instead, Carlson will face his former team, the Seattle Seahawks, who have allowed a league-low 6.0 yards per pass attempt and just 52 yards per game to opposing tight ends. For a 29-year-old veteran to follow up his best performance in five years versus one of the NFL's premier pass defenses is a lot to ask from fantasy owners, so they would be advised to look elsewhere for help at a position that is in need of options.
