The Week 11 matchup between the New York Jets and the Buffalo Bills is a classic divisional rivalry that could come down to the wire. We've got all the fantasy projections for you courtesy of numberFire.
New York Jets
After missing the team's last five games with a hamstring injury, the Jets will have wide receiver Santonio Holmes back in the lineup against the Bills in Week 11. Holmes has been hit or miss in the games that he has played this season. Luckily for fantasy owners who scooped him off the waiver wire, his best effort came against Buffalo back in Week 3. He only caught five passes in that game but he totaled 154 yards and a touchdown as a result.
Of course Holmes' ability to make a fantasy impact on the game will depend on rookie quarterback Geno Smith. Smith and Holmes were starting to build up a rapport when Holmes got hurt, so it will be interesting to see if the two pick up where they left off against Buffalo. Both players are borderline fantasy options but they may make an impact this week in deeper leagues.
Buffalo Bills
Late in the preseason and early in the regular season, rookie quarterback E.J. Manuel appeared to be the real deal for the Bills. However, since injuring his knee against the Cleveland Browns back in Week 5, the Bills have only won one game. Of course that's not all Manuel's fault, but he was held to just 155 passing yards against the Pittsburgh Steelers last week. As he is clearly still working his way back from injury, he is only an option as a fill-in starter in fantasy leagues right now.
If he is to have a good game against a solid Jets defense, he will have to hope that receiver Stevie Johnson plays and running backs Fred Jackson and C.J. Spiller can perform at a high level. While that may be a lot to ask of the Bills, Jackson impressed against the Jets in Week 3, averaging over 10 yards per carry on just seven rush attempts in the game. Spiller, on the other hand, has been somewhat of a disappointment for his fantasy owners all year, struggling with injuries and struggling to produce when given the opportunity. Needless to say, Sunday's game against the Jets could prove to be tough for both teams offensively.
