The Week 11 matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Denver Broncos features two of the front runners for this year's Super Bowl. We've got all the fantasy projections for you courtesy of numberFire.
Kansas City Chiefs
Almost no one would've thought that the Chiefs would be undefeated going into Week 11 considering that they only won two games all last year. That's exactly where coach Andy Reid and his players find themselves as they head to Denver. From a fantasy perspective, their leader has always been running back Jamaal Charles. Charles managed 96 total yards against the Buffalo Bills in Week 9 and has been held that out of the end zone in two straight weeks. He's a good bet to score against the Broncos as they don't mind letting the opposing running back get his numbers.
That said, if the Chiefs defense is unable to contain the Broncos passing game, quarterback Alex Smith will have to step up his game. Nobody would confuse him for being an elite fantasy quarterback. He has not thrown for more than 245 yards in a game in the team's last five contests. It's not all his fault because he doesn't really have a prolific receiver to throw to given the struffles of receiver Dwayne Bowe, but he'll need to find some touchdowns if the Chiefs are to top the Broncos in Week 11.
Denver Broncos
Some experts out there are giving the Chiefs a chance to beat the Broncos on Sunday thanks to an ankle injury to quarterback Peyton Manning. Though he may be somewhat hobbled, Manning threw four touchdowns against the San Diego Chargers last week. Fantasy owners have no choice but to start him in any game and he's built a Hall of Fame career on solid performances in big games like the one coming up on Sunday Night Football.
One receiver Manning should thank for his recent barrage of touchdown passes is Demariyus Thomas. Of the eight touchdown passes Manning has thrown in the last two games, Thomas has been on the receiving end of four them. He is probably the most athletically gifted receiver the team has and he’s got size to go with it. Though he’ll probably draw one of the Chiefs better cornerbacks on Sunday, Thomas is an automatic start in most if not all fantasy leagues.
