Houston Texans running back Ben Tate is active on Sunday against the Oakland Raiders.
Ben Tate active for Houston Texans, fantasy owners on Sunday
The Houston Texans won’t have to deal with the absence of another featured running back on Sunday, as Ben Tate will take the field. We break down the fantasy implications.

Tate has battled through four broken ribs over his past few games, but was never in danger of missing game action this week. The Texans have had to call his number repeatedly as they deal with the loss of lead running back Arian Foster, and Tate has shouldered the load. Injury or not, Tate has pushed onward, accumulating 41 touches over the past two weeks for 143 yards.
Fantasy Spin: Tate will once again see a heavy dose of the carries and will be spelled by Dennis Johnson. Johnson's role is not likely to expand beyond the change-of-pace one, as injuries to both Foster and Tate have led to just 13 touches in the two games he has been active for.
The Raiders’ run defense has been stingier than expected this season, allowing just 3.7 yards per carry and 98.4 yards per game. Both marks rank the team seventh in the NFL, so it’s possible that Tate will have to rely on a few goal-line carries to have a fantasy relevant day. This week, he is in solid RB2 territory.
