Despite their team scoring 37 points in a win over the division rival New York Jets, Buffalo Bills running backs Fred Jackson and C.J. Spiller had awful games, with only 40 total rushing yards between them. The two added 15 receiving yards, but their fantasy contributions were basically nil.

Spiller’s 6 yards (on 13 carries) were a season low for him, with his only fantasy point coming on his 10 receiving yards. Jackson, meanwhile, provided only three fantasy points -- also a season low -- with 34 rushing and 5 receiving yards.
Fantasy impact: Jackson has been the ninth-best fantasy producer among running backs on the season, ahead of guys like Alfred Morris, Giovani Bernard and Eddie Lacy. It's been tougher going for Spiller, but when he's healthy, he's as capable of big runs and big games as any running back in the game.
The Jets are notoriously stingy against opposing running backs, so it seems like the Bills made a conscious effort to let quarterback E.J. Manuel and the team's receiving corps try to carry the day. Going forward, it's tough to imagine the two stud running backs continuing this sort of struggle.
