Considering the conditions he was playing in Sunday, the fact that Chicago Bears quarterback Josh McCown managed 12 fantasy points against the Baltimore Ravens is something of a yeoman's effort. McCown led the Bears to a 23-20 overtime victory in the game.
Josh McCown has decent fantasy day in awful conditions
The Bears quarterback wasn’t tremendously productive Sunday, but that might have been the weather’s fault. We break down the fantasy implications.

McCown completed 19 of his 31 pass attempts Sunday for 216 yards. His touchdown pass came on a 14-yard connection with running back Matt Forte early in the fourth quarter, putting the Bears ahead 20-17. The game was played in very sloppy conditions, with inclement weather in the area forcing a delay of nearly two hours in the first quarter.
When play resumed, it was a sloppy field, one that stayed sloppy as weather stayed in the area. It was ugly enough -- both the mud on the ground and the rain in the air -- that the Bears didn’t attempt a single pass in the third quarter.
Fantasy impact: Considering McCown went an entire quarter without a pass attempt and was throwing the rest of the time through horrid weather, his day was wholly respectable -- opposing quarterback Joe Flacco threw for only 162 yards in the same number of attempts, and was intercepted twice.
Of course, fantasy owners get no credit for "quarterback performed well despite awful weather," so those that started him Sunday probably weren't in love with his final stat line. It's more of a good omen going forward -- with Russell Wilson and Nick Foles on a bye next week (plus Andy Dalton and E.J. Manuel, for whatever that's worth), if Bears starter Jay Cutler misses another game, McCown could be a fine start against the St. Louis Rams.
