Carolina Panthers wide receiver Steve Smith led the team in receiving yards during a statement win on Monday night versus the New England Patriots.
Steve Smith logs 62 yards for fantasy owners in win
The Panthers No. 1 receiver led the team in receiving on Monday night, but was third in the pecking order in terms of targets. We break down the fantasy implications.

Smith finished the evening with a modest stat sheet as quarterback Cam Newton spread the ball around to Brandon LaFell, Ted Ginn and Greg Olsen, leaving hardly any room for Smith to monopolize the receiving game. Smith finished third on the team with six targets, but caught four of them for a team-high 62 yards.
Fantasy Spin: Smith appeared to be having his way early versus Aqib Talib and the Patriots secondary, burning him in the first quarter for a 42-yard gain. Smith was quiet for most of the night afterward, despite the Panthers making an effort to get the ball in his hands with quick screens. Smith hasn't produced the way that his fantasy owners would like to see from the veteran No. 1, but he always poses a threat to make a big play each week. Going forward, Smith is a low-end WR3 in Week 12 versus a tough Miami Dolphins secondary.
