Washington Redskins tight end Jordan Reed was held out of practice on Thursday.
Jordan Reed sits out practice, status in question for Redskins, fantasy owners
Washington Redskins tight end Jordan Reed sat out the team’s first practice of the week with a concussion. We break down the fantasy implications.

Reed sustained a concussion in Week 11 versus the Philadelphia Eagles and was subsequently held out for the rest of the game. He will need to pass the NFL's concussion protocol before suiting up again. Because of the Monday night game time versus the San Francisco 49ers, Thursday marked the Redskins' first practice of the week, which allows plenty of time for Reed to get clearance. However, there is no guarantee of that happening.
Fantasy Spin: Fantasy owners are put in a tough spot this week due to the Redskins’ late game compounding matters further. With tight end being such a thin position, fantasy owners need to count on Reed, but would be playing with fire doing so if nothing if his status is not determined before Sunday.
It’s still premature for owners to bench Reed outright, but contingency plans must be in place to prepare for the worst-case scenario. If Reed gets back to a normal practice schedule, he is a TE1 versus a stout 49ers defense.
