New England Patriots running back Shane Vereen got his season back on track after a wrist injured derailed it in Week 1. He was not a big factor in the rushing game with one carry for seven yards against the Carolina Panthers in a loss. Although, Stevan Ridley had a costly fumble and that could change the outlook for the upcoming week.
Fantasy football start/sit, Week 12: Shane Vereen is strong RB2 option
Shane Vereen is back and it didn’t take him long to make some noise. Should fantasy owners start him on Sunday?

Additionally, Vereen was a huge factor in the passing game and that was the plan in the preseason. Back in August, they lined him up in the slot and on the outside in numerous occasions. They didn’t line him up on the outside nearly as much, but the slot snaps were definitely there. Vereen finished with eight catches for 65 yards on 11 targets. He led the team in all of those categories.
Fantasy impact: You probably don’t need anyone to tell you that Vereen needs to be in the starting lineup in PPR leagues. He’s a top-eight option in that regard. As for standard leagues, considering how the Patriots are likely going to sling it against the Broncos, Vereen’s yardage in the air should make him a strong RB2.
