Fantasy football projections, Week 12: Jets vs. Ravens featuring Geno Smith, Santonio Holmes and Torrey Smith
We break down the Week 12 matchup between the New York Jets and the Baltimore Ravens.

The Week 12 matchup between the New York Jets and the Baltimore Ravens features two conservative offenses. We've got all the fantasy projections for you courtesy of numberFire.
New York Jets
Coming out of training camp it was widely accepted that coach Rex Ryan would give rookie quarterback Geno Smith a chance to be the team's starter. Smith looked good in the first half of the season and showed a lot of promise. Lately he's been off. Last week against the Buffalo Bills, Smith completed only eight passes for 107 yards. Obviously with a performance like that the Jets didn't have any chance to win the game.
With Smith playing inconsistently, it lowers the ceiling for wide receiver Santonio Holmes. Coming off of a hamstring injury, Holmes did look explosive against the Bills last week and was able to catch two of Smith's eight completions for 71 yards receiving. That's pretty good considering the inaccuracy of the quarterback. At the same time though, the degree to which Holmes climbs up the fantasy ranks down the stretch obviously depends on getting hit in the chest with the ball from time to time.
Baltimore Ravens
Running back Ray Rice finally had a big game last week against the Chicago Bears. He ran for 131 yards on 25 carries and added three receptions for additional 17 yards in the passing game. It's safe to say he's had a rough year though, as the game against the Bears is the first time this season that he's eclipsed 100 yards on the ground. It's not even because teammate Bernard Pierce has stolen carries or anything like that. The Ravens offense has simply been lackluster this year.
Quarterback Joe Flacco is going to look to a familiar target in Torrey Smith in the passing game should Rice revert to his old ways in Week 12. Smith has at least five catches and a touchdown in each of the last two games. Fantasy owners should take that with a grain of salt. Smith only has three touchdowns on the year and he's no sure bet to score against a good Jets defense.
