Fantasy football projections, Week 12: Jaguars vs. Texans featuring Cecil Shorts, Andre Johnson and Ben Tate

The Week 12 matchup between the New York Jets and the Baltimore Ravens features two conservative offenses. We've got all the fantasy projections for you courtesy of numberFire.

Jacksonville Jaguars

Wide receiver Cecil Shorts has struggled mightily since teammate Justin Blackmon was suspended for the rest of the year. Shorts only caught two passes last week against the Arizona Cardinals for 22 yards. The funny thing is that Shorts was actually getting more action in the passing game with Blackmon across the field from him and had just as much clout fantasy-wise as Blackmon because he would rack up more receptions.

He'll have to find a way to be on top of his game against a Texans defense that gives up the fourth fewest fantasy points to wide receivers this season. Shorts can't do it alone however, he needs quarterback Chad Henne to play better. Henne did throw for 255 yards last week against the Cardinals but a lot of that came in a 61 yard play on a fourth and one opportunity where the Cardinals were guarding against the run.

Houston Texans

After a very slow start to the season and having many people wondering whether he was getting too old to be a supreme wide receiver, Andre Johnson has proved that his days as a fantasy stud aren't done yet. Johnson has at least nine catches in two of the team's last three games. Even when he was limited by the Cardinals two weeks ago and only caught three passes, two of them were in the end zone for scores. Johnson is definitely a fan of the team's change to Case Keenum at quarterback to say the least.

When Keenum isn't airing the ball out to a receiver, Ben Tate will handle the majority of the workload in the running game for the Texans. Tate had 19 carries for 88 yards against the Oakland Raiders last week and he will be up against a Jaguars defense that gives up points in every facet of the game. Tate could be someone to watch in Week 12.
