Welker missed practice on Wednesday, and was limited on Thursday. On Friday, he was listed as a full participant in team practice. Players who suffer concussions have to pass multiple tests before being allowed to play, including a final test on Saturday. If there’s no news by early Sunday, Welker should be starting.
It’s obviously a big storyline, as Welker had the best years of his career with the Patriots, who let Welker walk over what many believe to be a trivial amount of money in the end, especially given how terrible the Patriots have been at the receiver position this season.
Fantasy Impact: Welker has been solid this season, catching 61 passes for 648 yards with nine touchdowns. He’s the third-leading receiver on the team, though he’s tied for second in touchdowns behind Julius Thomas (10) and leads the team in receptions. Welker will likely see even more passes his way if Thomas doesn’t play, as he is officially questionable for the game.
