When the Miami Dolphins signed wide receiver Mike Wallace as a free agent in the offseason, they -- and fantasy owners -- likely envisioned a better pace than the 53-yards-a-game-and-one-score-on-the-season disappointment he has been so far. In the first half Sunday, Wallace reminded everyone why he got the big bucks, with a huge half as the Dolphins lead the Carolina Panthers 16-6 at halftime.
Mike Wallace on his way to his best fantasy day as a Dolphin
The offseason free-agent acquisition has already topped 100 yards through one half Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.

Wallace has caught only two passes (on three targets) through two quarters, but has gone for 110 receiving yards and a touchdown in that time. Wallace’s two catches have gone for 53 yards (and a score) and 57 yards, ranking as his two longest completions of the season.
Fantasy impact: For a receiver who has only topped 100 yards in a game all season, with 115 as a season-high, this has been a heck of a good sign, particularly against a Panthers’ defense that has ranked among the NFL’s best. While it’s only two catches, fantasy players who have continued running Wallace out there have to be celebrating his first-half performance Sunday.
