Fantasy football projections, Week 12: 49ers vs. Redskins featuring Frank Gore, Colin Kaepernick and Robert Griffin
We break down the Week 12 matchup between the San Francisco 49ers and the Washington Redskins.

San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers haven't exactly got spectacular numbers from quarterback Colin Kaepernick lately. He was silenced in big games the last two weeks, throwing for only a combined 218 yards. Needless to say, the 49ers have lost back-to-back games. The truth is the red and gold have won games based on rushing and defense for the last few years anyway, so it's not a complete surprise to see Kaepernick taking a back seat to more elite fantasy quarterbacks.
Kaepernick's inconsistency of late means Frank Gore will be counted on to dominate on the ground against the Redskins. Luckily for the 49ers, he's having one of the best seasons of his career this year. He's been limited to just 130 yards rushing over the last two games, but he did average 5.1 yards per carry against the Carolina Panthers in Week 10. Gore has seven touchdowns this year already, putting him just three shy of his career high. He's no doubt done his part for fantasy owners this year.
Washington Redskins
As much as Colin Kaepernick has not been doing to well over the last little while, his counterpart in Washington has been struggling just the same. Robert Griffin completed just 48-percent of his passes against the Philadelphia Eagles last week. The good news is Griffin's inaccuracy didn't affect fantasy owners that much since he still threw for 264 yards and a pair of scores in the game. He'll no doubt be in tough against the 49ers and fantasy owners might consider benching him.
With tight end Jordan Reed (concussion) out for Monday's game, Griffin will look to Alfred Morris to carry the load on the ground and help move the chains. Morris is scorching hot right now. He's averaging more than 117 yards per game over the last three weeks. It'll be tough for him to top 100 yards against the 49ers but he's carried the ball 48 times in the last two weeks so he'll get his fair share of opportunities in Week 12. Fantasy owners should start him even against a tough matchup right now.
