New York Jets running backs Bilal Powell and Chris Ivory ran the ball effectively versus the Baltimore Ravens, but an early deficit forced the team to throw more.
Chris Ivory and Bilal Powell contribute little for fantasy owners vs. Ravens
Chris Ivory and Bilal Powell could not get much going on the ground as the team fell into an early hole versus the Ravens. We break down the fantasy implications.

Powell chipped in with 11 carries for 45 yards and Ivory ran nine times for 45 yards. Ivory had been receiving the bulk of the workload in recent weeks, but that is in question going forward after sustaining an apparent ankle sprain. There is no word yet on how much time Ivory will miss, if any, but Powell will get the bulk of the workload in the event his counterpart misses time.
Fantasy Spin: With the Jets amid another early deficit versus the Ravens, Powell got the bulk of the workload as the third-down and passing-down specialist. But the main takeaway of this game is that if Ivory misses time, what was initially a shared backfield essentially becomes Powell’s.
Ivory dealt with a hamstring injury in the beginning of the season, and Powell totaled over 100 yards in two of the games where Ivory was severely limited. Should Powell resume feature-back duties, he is instantly thrust into RB2 territory as a focal point in a run-first offense.
