Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles showcased his trademarked electric ability once again on Sunday versus the San Diego Chargers.
Jamaal Charles gives fantasy owners 157 yards and 2 touchdowns
The Chiefs’ feature back did it again with a huge day on the ground, and is now on pace for 1,953 yards from scrimmage in 2013. We break down the fantasy implications.

Despite his team being unable to hold a late-game lead, Charles piled on the yardage and the points. Charles matched his season low in touches with 18, but tallied 157 total yards and two touchdowns. The highlight of his day came in the fourth quarter, as Charles ripped off a 46-yard gain against a Chargers defense that failed to contain the elusive runner all game long.
Fantasy Spin: With his latest barnburner, Charles has now totaled 96 yards or more in 10 of the Chiefs’ 11 games this season. He has simply been too much to handle for any defense lined up across from him this season, and head coach Andy Reid is committed to giving him touches regardless of the game’s situation.
Charles will face the Denver Broncos next week, a team that held him to a season-low of 72 yards from scrimmage during their Week 11 meeting. That's zero reason for concern despite the lowest total of the season, and Charles is a must-start RB1 in all formats. He is a near-lock for 20 touches, and a player as exciting as Charles presents through-the-roof upside with those chances. Start him without hesitation.
