Denver Broncos running back Knowshon Moreno had an excellent game against the New England Patriots on Sunday, though Moreno was unable to carry his team to victory. New England won, 34-31, in overtime after the Broncos fumbled a punt return. Still, Moreno had a breakout game worthy of note.
Knowshon Moreno has big day for Broncos, fantasy owners
Knowshon Moreno had a huge day running the football on Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.

Moreno carried the ball a whopping 37 times on Sunday, rushing for 224 yards with a touchdown. That’s a per-carry average of 6.1 yards, which is incredible. Moreno looked excellent on the day, and he had to, given quarterback Peyton Manning’s struggles. It’s usually Manning’s team to carry, but the veteran only managed 150 yards in the losing effort to New England.
The Broncos had a lot of questions regarding the running game coming into this season, with all of Montee Ball, Ronnie Hillman and Moreno vying for carries, but Moreno has firmly established himself as the top back.
Fantasy Impact: Moreno has 187 carries for 824 yards and nine touchdowns on the season. A healthy chunk of that came on Sunday night, so he was obviously excellent for fantasy owners. It was actually his first game with over 100 rushing yards this season, though he’s made it over 90 yards on two other occasions. It hasn’t been the most consistent season, but he came through for fantasy owners on Sunday.
