Editor’s Update: The 49ers have not activated Crabtree by the 1 p.m. Monday deadline for MNF, so he will not play.
Michael Crabtree injury update: 49ers WR not activated for Monday Night Football
San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree is reportedly a game-time decision for Monday’s game. We break down the fantasy implications.

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree will be a game-time decision for the team's Monday Night Football showdown with the Washington Redskins, at least according to one report. Crabtree has missed the entirety of the season to this point with an Achilles injury sustained in May.
Crabtree has been practicing with the team for the past couple weeks. The team doesn’t have to activate him from the physically unable to perform list just yet, as they have until Tuesday to do so. Crabtree returned to practice on Nov. 5, and Tuesday would be the three-week mark, at which point Crabtree will either have to be activated or shut down for the remainder of the season.
It seems a foregone conclusion that the 49ers would activate him by then, of course, but whether or not he’ll actually play on Monday is a different matter entirely. It doesn’t sound like Crabtree has done enough in practice to legitimately play in Monday’s game, but stranger things have happened in the NFL.
Fantasy Impact: If you’re trying to decide between Crabtree or another receiver from Monday’s game, you should go with that other receiver. It seems extremely unlikely that Crabtree actually end up being active and playing, and if he does, it seems even more unlikely he’d have a full role. Crabtree is likely a smart late-season option for your fantasy team, but Monday’s game is probably not the game in which he’ll deliver. Game-time decision or not, he likely won’t play.
