Miami Dolphins running back Daniel Thomas reportedly tore a ligament in his left ankle and is likely done for the season, according to Omar Kelly of the Sun Sentinel. Thomas sustained the injury in a 20-16 loss to the Carolina Panthers on Sunday.
Daniel Thomas out for season, per report; Lamar Miller should be every-down back for fantasy owners
Daniel Thomas is out for the season, according to a report. We break down the fantasy implications.

Thomas left the game early on and was questionable to return, but was seen on crutches and in a walking boot after the game. Kelly reports that Thomas will not have to undergo surgery to repair the injury, but it will obviously force him to miss time, and with the season coming up on Week 13, expecting him back seems to be asking too much.
Thomas has carried the ball 77 times for 279 yards and three touchdowns. He will finish the season with 11 games played, continuing a trend of playing in one less game each season (13 in 2011, 12 in 2012). His yardage total has also dropped each year.
Fantasy Impact: Thomas had a real chance to impact the depth chart and shake things up in Miami, but he ultimately fell in behind Lamar Miller, who has 114 carries for 475 yards and two touchdowns. Thomas wasn't ever a strong fantasy option other than his potential early on in the season. That said, this could give Miller even more carries going forward.
