Washington Redskins wide receiver Pierre Garcon had little room to run versus a swarming San Francisco 49ers defense.
Pierre Garcon racks-up targets, but little else for fantasy owners on Monday night
Pierre Garcon was one of many Redskins to be shut down by the San Francisco 49ers on Monday night. We break down the fantasy implications.

Garcon had a difficult time getting open downfield, drawing most of the attention in coverage and having little time to gain separation with a relentless pass rush harassing Robert Griffin III. Garcon made most of his money on Monday night with quick screens, but there was little yardage to be had versus a secondary and linebacker unit that saw them coming from a mile away. Garcon finished the evening with team highs of 48 yards, eight catches and 11 targets.
Fantasy Spin: Frustration is understandable, but there’s no reason for fantasy owners to have long-term concern when Garcon gets shut down by worthy adversaries. Despite the passing game’s inefficiency, Garcon is still the top option and a target monster on an offense that has been able to sustain drives throughout the season despite its recent struggles.
The New York Giants secondary is no pushover, but presents a matchup that Garcon can capitalize against in Week 13. Pen Garcon in as a middling WR2 option with upside.
