Arizona Cardinals running back Andre Ellington missed practice on Friday, according to Darren Urban of the team website. Ellington sustained a knee injury at practice on Thursday, so his absence is unsurprising. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem likely a rookie would miss most of a week's practice and be ready to go with no issue on Sunday.
Andre Ellington misses practice, fantasy owners should consider backup options
Arizona Cardinals running back Andre Ellington missed practice on Friday. We break down the fantasy implications.

While Ellington will tell you that he hopes to play on Sunday when the Cardinals take on the Philadelphia Eagles, searching for their eighth win of the season, there's definitely cause for concern. The last thing the Cardinals want to do is bring Ellington back too quickly and risk further injury.
Arizona also doesn’t want to chance playing him if he’ll be less than effective due to the missed time in practice.
Fantasy Impact: The Cardinals opened the season with Rashard Mendenhall as the starter, and that was disastrous. Ellington's role has increased week to week though, and with 73 carries for 441 yards and two touchdowns, he's definitely the running back of the future. Fantasy owners haven't been crazy about the lack of touchdowns, but his 6.0 yards per carry certainly doesn't hurt. At this point, fantasy owners should be looking into backup options despite Ellington's desire to play.
