Fantasy football projections, Week 9: Vikings vs. Cowboys featuring Adrian Peterson, Tony Romo and Dez Bryant
We break down the Week 9 matchup between the Minnesota Vikings and the Dallas Cowboys.

Minnesota Vikings
Coach Leslie Frazier appears to be leaning towards starting Christian Ponder at quarterback for the second straight week. Though the coach is waiting until later in the week to name the starter officially, Ponder, and not teammate Josh Freeman, took the first-team reps in practice on Wednesday and Thursday. Against a Green Bay Packers secondary that is average at best, Ponder managed to throw for just 145 yards and could not find a receiver in the end zone in a game that saw the Vikings score 31 points.
Ponder's performance may not bode well for Vikings receivers against the Cowboys in Week 9. That said, fantasy owners should know by now that the team only goes as far as the legs of running back Adrian Peterson. Peterson scored his sixth touchdown of the season against the Packers, but he finished with just 60 yards on the ground. That's well below his season average of over 81 yards rushing per game. Fantasy owners should expect more from him in Week 9 against the Cowboys, even though he's up against a fairly good run defense.
Dallas Cowboys
Although fantasy owners can't help but be satisfied with quarterback Tony Romo and his three-touchdown performance against the Detroit Lions in Week 8, there's no doubt that Romo and his boys need to start focusing on racking up the wins when they take on the Vikings. He played good enough for fantasy owners to win in their respective leagues but was topped by the Lions' Matthew Stafford, who threw for nearly 500 yards against the Cowboys last week. Stafford and company stole a win away from Dallas on an incredible last-second drive.
The loss seemed to have irritated star wide receiver Dez Bryant, who was seen getting into a shouting match on the sidelines with teammate Jason Witten near the end of the game. Bryant stated earlier in the week that he could be at least as good as the Lions' Calvin Johnson and although he did post two touchdowns in the contest on just three catches, Johnson nearly broke the NFL record for receiving yards in a game. Needless to say, Bryant will need to exploit the inexperienced cornerbacks who will start for the Vikings and back up his sideline antics with big numbers. He is a must-start for his fantasy owners because of that.
