Carolina Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart was activated on Saturday and should play in Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons. Stewart has been dealing with his injuries since last season, when he hurt his ankle in a game against the Philadelphia Eagles on Nov. 26.
Jonathan Stewart injury: Panthers RB could play, fantasy value iffy for now
Carolina Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart could play on Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.

Stewart has been able to practice for the past couple weeks, as per the rules of the physically unable to perform list. That means his activation so close to a game shouldn’t have much of an effect, as he’s been keeping in shape and preparing as though he’ll play.
DeAngelo Williams has been the starter, and has been pretty good with 114 carries for 477 yards and a touchdown. That's a per-carry average of 4.2 yards. Quarterback Cam Newton comes in second on the team with 229 yards and three touchdowns on the ground.
Fantasy Impact: Fantasy owners have likely already scooped up Stewart in recent weeks in anticipation of his return. He can definitely help out some fantasy teams this season -- the question is whether or not he will on Sunday. It doesn’t seem likely he shoulders a full load on Sunday, and it should take some time to supplant Williams as the starter. He’s something like a RB3 or even RB4 at this point, until he shows otherwise.
